| Simon attended Brighton Polytechnic from 1989 to 1991 and gained a BA Hons degree in 3 dimensional design. Whilst studying at Brighton Simon developed an interest in the human form, life drawing and figurative sculpture. After college he moved to London and worked as a chaser in a sculpture-casting studio called ‘Bronze Age’ and learned the age old processes and techniques of “ceramic shell” bronze casting whilst assisting many of Britons leading sculptors.After a long period of travel throughout East Asia and Australia Simon began focusing on sculpture whilst also working as a freelance model maker. Exhibiting widely throughout the UK and Europe, a piece was selected to be featured in the prestigious book “Reasons to Love the Earth” a collection of artworks curated by the Earth foundation in the Netherlands. |
